Agree with @ChaoSState that in case of harness like Commando Chest Rig or LBT 1961a its really easy to keep them in admin pocket. I prefer to attach map to the stock(like on my avatar photo - at least in case of crane stock it works well) with rubber rings - basically you don't need extra space...
